This installation tells about directions. Designed as a set table, based on the four wind directions. Inside the Javanese philosophy these wind directions are from essential interest. They determinate also the destiny of Javanese man. The kraton in Jogya , for instance, is based in this philosophy. To each wind direction belongs ditto-holy colors. (Red, yellow, black and white). Also in Islam, direction is important. After all, people have to pray in the direction of Mekka. How the prayer mat has to put down depends where the person is situated at that moment somewhere in the world.  Haram means kosher, not allowed, forbidden. On the plates are attributes who are (or refers) haram( taboo) according the Islamic law. In this installation Javanese and Islamic traditions came together.
